I’m not yet ready to show a house tour of the Ewing house. I am getting more confident that it will be best to just post pics with boxes everywhere and garbage bags hanging from cabinets pulls in the kitchen, but I’m hoping I can straighten up at least a little bit more before then.
For now… I figure I would post the pictures of how the house was listed for sale when my brother bought it.
Like I said – its a small cape cod
When you walk into the house, you’re greeted by a verrrrryyy large living room which features a bay window, built-in bookcases, and hardwood floors. It is open to the staircase and a half wall separates it from the dining area.
The dining room opens to a very narrow, very-not-updated kitchen.
(note: the washing machine in the kitchen where the fridge should go)
Also on the first floor is what is now my bedroom. The previous owners used this as a den. We pulled up that horrible 70s brown gold carpet the night Pete closed on the house. Curtains also got thrown out that night too.
From here, you can also see the world’s narrowest bathroom. Seriously. Its 42.5″ wide. ug.
Also off the kitchen is the sun room where we spent so much time painting our armoires. Its in pretty bad shape and is looking like its just going to come down when we do the renovations.
Directly at the top of the stairs is the bathroom that wins the world’s Most Peach award. Every thing that can be the color peach… yeah. it is. Obviously needs updating.
On either side of the house is a bedroom with low peaked ceilings.
So that’s it. Thats the big reveal. We have our work cut out for us – but it will be awesome. It already looks a lot better with more youthful furnishings in it.
